  • NOVARTIS VACCINES; Lead construction completion, troubleshooting and commissioning activities for grassroots central utilities building systems.
  • DIOSYNTH BIOTECHNOLOGY/SCHERING- PLOUGH; Provide Project Engineering services including URS and HDS document development, funding approvals, procurement and installation management for fermentor upgrades, WAVE bioreactor, stability chambers, UF skid, spectrophotometer, particle analyzer, plant and clean steam upgrade projects in a contract manufacturing/R&D environment.
  • TALECRIS BIOTHERAPEUTICS; Manage $30 million AT-III Thrombate retrofit project. Coordinate intense 4 week round-the-clock shutdown with 30 subcontractor companies installing high purity piping, HVAC, CIP, cold rooms, vessels and process systems.
  • WYETH BIOTECH; Author, execute and closeout commissioning protocols for scale-up fermentation upgrade project including 150L fermentor, centrifuge, homogenizer and CIP system. Support Vaccine Development Department through validation and successful E. coli trial runs with troubleshooting, vendor coordination, equipment operational records and process flowcharting.
  • STIEFEL LABORATORIES; Provide User Requirement Specifications for stability chambers, glasswashers, purified water and nitrogen systems.   
  • WYETH VACCINES; Lead Owner’s Representative for commissioning and turnover of $143 million Fermentation Full Scale Development Facility Project.
  • GLAXOSMITHKLINE; Lead construction technical advisor, design troubleshooter and commissioning manager for 20,000SF Fermentation Suite renovation tear-out/re-build and Central Plant Fuel Oil Upgrade project.
  • BAYER CORP.; Direct contracting through startup, commissioning and validation of $11 million WFI Upgrade project that replaced plantwide sanitary piping, equipment and support utilities infrastructure.
  • BAYER CORP.; Replace $4 million R-22 Refrigeration System with design/build contractor during plantwide shutdown. Engineer QC/commissioning program and coordinate all turnover activities.
  • NOVO NORDISK; Manage process chiller upgrade troubleshooting/commissioning, fire suppression system, waste recycling facility, expansion shutdown coordination and WFI sanitization projects.
  • MERCK & CO.; Lead design through turnover of $4 million utility upgrade expanding Energy Center, substation, cooling tower, air compressor, boiler, chiller, water and energy monitoring systems.
  • BAYER CORP.; Manage critical $5.5 million shutdown projects including ethanol distribution, chiller and HVAC replacements at plasma fractionation cGMP facility.
  • GLAXO WELLCOME INC.; Provide technical project support and start-up/commissioning services for $5 million Chemical Development Reactor Lab Renovation Project. Perform project documentation/punchlist control and turnover/closeout for $3 million GLP facility upfit. Directly manage design and installation of SIMPLEX Fire Alarm System Upgrade Project at (10) buildings on corporate campus.
  • NORTEL NETWORKS/HELLMUTH, OBATA + KASSABAUM, P.C. (HOK); Perform onsite construction engineering at the $180 million (Northern Telecom) Raleigh Revitalization Project.
  • Provided quality Project and Construction Management services for major new and renovation projects at
  • GLAXO WELLCOME INC.; Lead Mechanical Project Manager/Owner’s Representative responsible for construction engineering of:
    $34 million validated Scale-Up Facility and Central Plant Expansion
    $70 million Commercial Operations Center and Administrative Complex
    $350 million Research and Development world-class facilities in Research Triangle Park, NC
    $8 million validated cGMP Bulk Powder/Tablet Manufacturing clean room and process expansion
    $2.5 million Total Manufacturing Plant Fire Protection System Retrofit
    Managed administrative space fit-ups, warehouse expansions, equipment upgrades at corporate campus, R&D laboratory and product manufacturing sites with project scopes ranging from $50K to $1.5M.
    Coordinated design through installation of Owner Furnished Process Equipment in new validated Pilot Plant with value of $15 million requiring systematic problem solving.
    Headed checkout, start-up and turnover of complex/high technology laboratory and process systems including piped utility distribution, waste neutralization, HVAC equipment/controls, fire protection/alarm and security.
    Authored Corporate Engineering Construction Quality Control Manual.
